$10 helps one kid climb

Across our region, schools and youth-serving programs are asking for climbing experiences during the school day, after school, and through community programs. The demand is real, and it is growing. The Outdoor Inclusion Coalition has the staff, training model, and community partnerships to help make these experiences possible. What we’re creating is a community-funded pool to cover the basic cost that keeps too many young people out: gym entry fees. Your donation helps us say yes to the next school, the next provider, and the next young person ready to climb.

Why This Matters

Climbing gives young people more than a day at the gym. It gives them a chance to try something new, move through fear, build confidence, problem-solve, and experience the outdoors and adventure industry in a new way.

In the first quarter alone, OIC supported 180 direct climbing experiences through school-day partnerships, after-school programs, and OIC climbing club experiences. Since then, more than 15 additional providers have requested support, representing up to 225 more students.

The interest is there. The young people are ready. The barrier is cost.

What Your Donation Supports

Donations to the Every Kid Climbs Fund primarily cover:

  • Gym entry and day-pass fees for students

  • Climbing access for public schools, after-school providers, daycares, and educator-led programs

  • Limited transportation support when transportation is the barrier to participation

OIC will continue contributing staff support, educator training, safety planning, and partner coordination so each experience is structured, welcoming, and safe.

Our Commitment

All donations received over the next 60 days will be allocated directly to schools and youth-serving providers with pending climbing requests.

To keep the process fair and responsive, OIC will prioritize:

  • Public school students and youth-serving programs

  • Partners with confirmed dates and clear student counts

  • Programs with limited or no alternative funding

  • A balance of school-day, after-school, and community-based programs

After the campaign, we will share a brief impact update so donors can see how many climbs were funded, how many providers were supported, and where the funds were directed.
