Join the OIC for a Full Moon Hike just one week before the Vernal Equinox. As we welcome the changing season, we’ll meet at the visitor’s center at 6:30 PM, just as the moon rises to gently illuminate our path through the forest. Along the way, we’ll take time to observe local flora and fauna, discuss moon phases and constellations, and learn about the upcoming lunar eclipse. The hike will conclude back at the visitor’s center by 8:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an evening outdoors and connect with the natural world under the glow of the full moon.
Things to note:
Length: About 2 miles
Hiking boots/shoes are strongly suggested as the terrain can be steep in some places
Must be 7 years or older, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult
If you have a headlamp, please bring one. If you do not own one, request to borrow a headlamp during the registration process
Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather – we will run the event rain or (moon) shine!
